Pianos are very durable instruments and can stay with you and your family for generations, provided they are properly cared for. Maintaining the exterior of a piano is fairly easy, just clean and dust it every so often. A technician can do the same for the piano's interior. Maintenance by a certified piano technician should be done at least every other time you have your piano tuned, or once a year.
